Senior Architect
Specific Responsibilities:
The initial focus for this work will be to assess the needs of the current and adjacent industries and identify the critical touch points between the players where standards can add the most value.
Then perform analysis of the existing core Frameworx for applicability to the digital services eco-system, including identification of gaps in solution suites and working with staff and members to drive completion of these gaps.
Drive the design of end to end solutions to meet the needs of the membership, utilizing the Frameworx suite of standards as well as other solution components from across the industry.
Drive the design of solutions to meet the needs of the membership across a series of core-competencies.
Engage with members from adjacent industry sectors and demonstrate the value of these new solutions to their needs.
Work with the Chief Architect and Product management in developing the Frameworx product direction and strategy. This includes but is not limited to
o Defining projects to leap-frog Frameworx to be the de-facto standard for the touch-points of the digital services eco-system
o Reviewing product plans, requirements and architectural changes
o Designing solution sets for core-competencies.
Desirable Skills:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the Telecoms Industry and have knowledge of the Frameworx suite of standards . Their expertise should include bringing new services to market and working with business partners in a value-chain, for a service provider. Experience with web services and cloud-based services is also desirable.
In-depth industry knowledge on currently available API’s with the ability to assess suitability to specific implementation scenario’s along with risk assessment of potential impacts to existing product suites.
This role requires a high level of personal productivity as well as the ability to work alone.
The role requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written as well as strong influencing skills.
This person will need to be able to take a pragmatic point of view, with a strong ability to cut through academic arguments and get to the core point of an “adequate” (not necessarily perfect) solution working under time pressures.
Min 10 years experience in the Telecoms industry
Min 5 years experience working as an Architect within a Telecommunications Service Provider
Min 5 years experience in using Frameworx within a Telecoms environment
Detailed knowledge of all component frameworks i.e
Business Process Framework – eTOM
Information Framework – SID
Application Framework – TAM
Integration Framework
Knowledge of ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT
Significant operational flexibility to enable working with teams in multiple locations and time-zones
Ability and willingness to travel
